Register for WIDA ACCESS webinar

Join CDE on May 19 at 4 p.m. for a webinar on early WIDA ACCESS data trends and implications for the 2026 redesignation process and performance frameworks. This year’s assessments reflected the updated WIDA ELD Standards Framework, 2020 Edition.

Colorado uses WIDA English language proficiency assessments.

ACCESS assessments are secure, large-scale English language proficiency assessments given annually to Kindergarten through 12th graders who are identified as Multilingual learners (NEP or LEP). ACCESS results provide educators and parents with information about their child's English language proficiency level in the language domains of Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing.

Placement/Screener Assessment

WIDA Screener/WIDA Screener Kindergarten are semi-secure English language proficiency "screener" assessments given to newly enrolled students to help educators identify whether they are Multilingual learners (MLs). WIDA screeners are one component of ML identification. This assessment aligns with the CELP standards.
