CoAlt - State Alternate Assessments
Attention Parents
New in 2025! Access your student's CoAlt results as of June.
CoAlt Math & ELA (DLM) Results
Your student's state student identifier (SASID) is needed to access results.
Note: CDE cannot provide sensitive student information to individuals. Check your school's student information system for your student's SASID or contact your school or district for support. SASIDs also appear on previous years' reports.
All spring 2025 data files and reports became available to districts and schools in the summer. Districts and schools may use aggregated and individual student level results internally for informational and planning purposes as soon as they are received.
Overview
The Colorado Alternate (CoAlt) Assessments are academic, standards-based assessments designed specifically for eligible students with the most significant cognitive disabilities. The primary purpose of the assessment program is to determine the level at which Colorado students with the most significant cognitive disabilities meet the Extended Evidence Outcomes (EEOs) of the Colorado Academic Standards.
Students who meet CoAlt participation guidelines take the alternate assessments for all statewide tests, including English Language Arts, math, science, and social studies. Students who are multilingual learners take the Alternate ACCESS for ELLs.
The student's IEP team decides if the student takes the CoAlt or general education assessments. Only students with significant cognitive disabilities receiving instruction based on the Extended Evidence Outcomes (EEO) of the Colorado Academic Standards participate in CoAlt.
Additional guidance is provided in the Alternate Standards and Assessment Participation Guidelines Worksheet and Companion Document.
