Field Services and Supports Unit

The Field Services Team provide universal support for all 178 Colorado school districts to build leadership capacity in order to ensure that all students and families have access to high-quality schools. Our team of experienced educators provides general performance support and brokers intensive and targeted services to support schools and districts in providing a high-quality education that meets all students’ needs.

The Field Services team meets regularly with district and BOCES leadership regarding educator effectiveness and talent, student learning, assessments, accountability, performance and support, special education, school finance, postsecondary readiness and rural education. We also emphasize targeted support for the 146 rural school districts across the state. Our District Improvement Strategy Office is dedicated to strategically connecting school and district leaders to relevant, high-quality, universal professional learning and CDE support.

Christina joined CDE in 2020 for the second time since 2011 and has over 23 years of experience in education. Christina is honored to be a career educator, having earned Teacher of the Year in New Mexico and then having the opportunity to lead schools through turnaround and serve as superintendent for a small, rural district in the San Luis Valley. Leading the Field Services team is Christina’s dream role, and she is at her best when she is working with district and BOCES leaders as a critical friend and extra set of helpful hands. She also loves cooking and trying new recipes, and is as crafty as one can be while also being a perfectionist.

Zack Allen

Zack joined the Colorado Department of Education in 2022 after serving as a central office administrator in a rural district in Northwest Colorado. With over 28 years of experience in public education across the state, Zack brings a deep understanding of rural needs and leadership. He values opportunities to serve as a thought partner to district leaders. Outside of work, Zack enjoys spending time outdoors (usually on a river) with family and friends.

Stephanie joined CDE in June 2025, following a career of over 27 years serving rural districts in various roles. Stephanie began her career as a secondary science and math teacher before moving into administration as a superintendent/principal in Southeastern Colorado. Most recently, Stephanie served in a dual role as the executive/special education director at Southeastern BOCES. Helping leaders navigate systems and find solutions is Stephanie’s favorite part of her job. When she’s not on the road supporting districts and BOCES, Stephanie enjoys spending time at home with her family and reading psychological thrillers.

Dan Jorgensen, PhD has been with CDE since 2011 and has worked in the Learning Supports, Accountability, and School Improvement Units during that time. He currently serves as the District Support Specialist – Governance & Impact. With over 20 years’ experience in education, Dan has served as a School Board member, district administrator, program evaluator, and adjunct faculty member at six different higher education institutions. He holds a PhD in Education Policy from the University of Denver. His work has focused on data-driven decision-making, program evaluation, school improvement, and effective board governance.

In his current role, Dan is energized by collaborating with district leaders, educators, and stakeholders to design solutions, support sustainable change, and drive improvement to achieve better outcomes for every student. Outside of work, he enjoys attending sporting events, running (slowly), traveling, coaching little league, and spending time with his family.

Adrienne joined CDE in June 2022 and is the Director of the District Improvement Strategy Office in the Field Services and Supports Unit. Adrienne has been serving in Colorado schools including public, private, charter, Turnaround, and Title I since 2002 as a teacher, assistant principal, culture and climate coach, instructional coach and most recently was an elementary school principal. In her free time, she enjoys the mountains, reading, and spending time with her family.

Victory joined CDE in August of 2023 and is the Professional Learning Coach for the District Improvement Strategy Office in the Field Services and Supports Unit. Victory has been a Colorado public school educator in the Pikes Peak region since 2000 as a teacher, RtI Coordinator, Assistant Principal, and Principal. Victory's commitment to lifelong learning has remained unwavering, positioning her as a perpetual student and collaborator. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, paddleboarding, watching movies, and spending time with family.

Darcy Hutchins, Ph.D. in Education Policy from the University of Maryland—College Park, is the Director of Family, School, Community Partnerships for the Colorado Department of Education (CDE). She provides support to districts to implement family partnership programs for student success, particularly through parent participation on school and district accountability committees.
