Fingerprinting for Private School - Approved Vendor Selection
This is for those private schools that do not require licensure but where the governing board of the nonpublic school requires a fingerprint background check pursuant to 22-1-121 C.R.S. (If your private school requires licensure, follow the steps above.) Fingerprint results come directly to CDE. These results of fingerprints submitted under this statute cannot be used for licensing purposes.
Check with your private school before proceeding as some conduct their own fingerprint-based criminal history checks utilizing the V.E.C.H.S. Program.

Mail-in Card Conversion Service: Yes. Select this link and then select the link titled "Submit a Fingerprint Card by Mail."
Process: This link will direct you to the IdentoGo website where all of the information necessary for submitting fingerprints for CDE will be auto-populated for you. During the process of scheduling your appointment, you will be able to locate a location nearest you.
No payment will be collected until you arrive at your service appointment. If you need to cancel your appointment, open the email that you received at the time you booked the appointment and click on the link to check your status and then click the "Cancel Appointment" link.
American Bioidentity Inc./Colorado Fingerprinting

Nationwide Locations: No (There are no CBI approved locations outside of Colorado)
Process: This link will direct you to the American Bioidentity Inc./Colorado Fingerprinting website where you will need to login or create an account with them first, then follow these steps:
- Select “CO Licensure/Employment Cabs” for the reason why you need to get fingerprinted. This should be the first selection from that list.
- Next, select "Private Schools - Colorado...", as the reason.
- Then, either enter your private school's CBI issued Unique ID or search by your agency by name. Contact your HR office to obtain this unique ID number.
- Payment is due upon completing your online "order." Note: This vendor does not offer refunds, so make your selections carefully. Contact them about rescheduling an appointment.

No other vendors, other than those listed above, are authorized to take fingerprints for CDE by statute. Colorado law requires that prints be taken by law enforcement or by a vendor approved by CBI. Using another vendor, may be costly and may require you to submit a new set of prints taken by one of the above listed vendors.
