Interstate Compact for School Psychologists

In April 2024, pursuant to Colorado House Bill 24-1096, Gov. Polis signed the Interstate Compact for School Psychologists into legislation to allow eligible licensed school psychologists an alternative method for obtaining a special services license in Colorado.

Seven states were required for the compact to take effect (view a map of compact states here), and compact commissioners met in January 2026 to embark on the process of establishing the rules and regulations to enact the compact. Once operational, we will outline the process for members in compact states here.

Visit the Interstate Compact for School Psychologists website for more information about the compact, upcoming meetings, the rulemaking process and any rules open for public comment.
