Access, Learning and Literacy
The mission of the Access, Learning, and Literacy (ALL) Team is to provide high-quality professional development, coaching, technical assistance, and implementation support to Colorado public school personnel serving students with disabilities. Through statewide, regional, and targeted capacity-building activities, the ALL Team supports effective implementation of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), the Exceptional Children’s Educational Act (ECEA), and instructional practices that improve student outcomes.
The ALL Team collaborates with administrative units, schools, educators, families, and community, state, and national partners to strengthen educational systems and build sustainable local capacity. Through a continuum of universal, targeted, and intensive supports, the team promotes the implementation of high-leverage practices, data-informed decision-making, continuous improvement, and systems-level change.
The team's goal is to improve educational and post-school outcomes by ensuring equitable access, meaningful participation, and progress in the general education curriculum across the continuum of least restrictive environments. Areas of focus include comprehensive evaluation and assessment; high-quality IEP development and implementation; specially designed instruction across academic, communication, language, adaptive, and functional skill domains; effective use of assistive technology; literacy and mathematics achievement; positive behavioral and social-emotional outcomes; graduation and dropout prevention; and secondary transition planning and services.
Services include professional learning, coaching, consultation, resource development, and implementation support that build local capacity, support continuous improvement, strengthen IDEA and ECEA implementation, and improve outcomes for students with disabilities
