Administrative Unit Determinations and State Performance Plan Indicator Profiles

The Colorado Department of Education is using both compliance and results matrices to make determinations for each Administrative Unit (AU) under section 616(d) of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). IDEA also requires CDE to report to the public on each AU's performance compared to state targets and state performance for 14 Indicators from the State Performance Plan/Annual Performance Report (SPP/APR).  Indicators reported to the public are a mixture of performance and compliance Indicators. Starting with the 2025 Determinations the CDE has created one user-friendly report that meets the requirements for both the AU Determination and the SPP/APR Indicator profile.

Please see the resources below for more information about AU Determinations.

Questions about an AU's Determination and SPP/APR Profile are to be directed to the AU Director. Find the special education director for your AU.
