Parents Encouraging Parents (PEP)

Parents Encouraging Parents (PEP) conferences are for parents and families of children with disabilities, ages birth to 21, as well as professionals who support them.

Hosted by the Colorado Department of Education’s Exceptional Student Services Unit, PEP focuses on building family-school partnerships and helping families better understand supports, services, and special education processes.

PEP conferences are designed to support all disability types and focus on shared experiences rather than specific diagnoses. Up to four conferences per year are held at locations across Colorado.
