Holds a State of Colorado Endorsement as a Reading Teacher or Reading Specialist

• District maintains a record of which teachers have met this requirement. 

• District reports this information to the CDE upon request.

Please note: teachers must retain all documentation.

Step One: Meet the Reading Specialist endorsement requirements

Step Two: Earn the READ Act designation

• After completing the required training or qualifications for the Reading Specialist endorsement, the teacher will receive a “READ Act Designation” attached to their teaching license.

Step Three: Notify your district

• The teacher saves a copy of their license with the READ Act designation.

• The teacher provides the district with the CDE-issued documentation confirming successful completion of the READ Act training requirement.
