CDE Data Collections

Snapshot Collections pull together information from multiple data sources, primarily interchanges, to meet a specific reporting need. Some snapshot collections include calculated data fields based upon multiple interchange data fields or additional CDE data sources. 

Interchange files are uploaded by Colorado districts and Boards of Cooperative Education Services (BOCES). Interchanges allow ongoing updates throughout the reporting year. A snapshot collection uses the current interchange file data based upon defined parameters for relevant records in the interchange files that are needed for the snapshot collection.

For example, the Staff Interchange has files that are used to report staff demographic information as well as information about subject taught and so forth. 

Year-Round Collections are files that are open throughout the school year and can be updated as needed.  

Periodic collections are typically one-time per year collections through a single file upload in Data Pipeline.

There are  periodic collections that cross reference data reported in interchange file(s); such as the READ spring assessments collection.
