Data

Statewide data collections on attendance provide broad measures of student engagement.  This includes levels of excused and unexcused absences and allows for analysis of engagement trends over time, across grade levels, and student groups.  These measures are reported at the school, district, and state levels.

• Data spreadsheets - ​CDE publishes spreadsheets annually that include:
  • Statewide and districtwide summary data on rates of chronic absenteeism, truancy counts, and habitual truant counts.
  • Statewide summaries of chronic absenteeism that include disaggregation by grade level, individual student groups, and race/ethnicity.
