Alternative Licensure Options
Alternative licensure is an option if you already have a bachelor's degree. You will complete your alternative licensure program while teaching in a Colorado classroom.

ASPIRE Program with CU-Denver
The ASPIRE program is an alternative licensure program specifically for current Colorado service members. It is started before leaving military service through the Career Skills Residency Program.

The Troops to Teachers program was sunset on Oct. 1, 2020. However, CDE is proud to support military veterans and their families with recruiting, preparation, licensing and placement assistance. We work work closely with participants, hiring authorities and other organizations affected by the program changes to communicate and coordinate final program details.
