From Assessment to Action — Strengthening Wellbeing and Belonging

Educators from across Colorado gathered Tuesday, March 10, for a hands-on training hosted by the Colorado Department of Education's Project AWARE, which focuses on strengthening student wellbeing and belonging in schools.
The training, Moving from Assessment to Action: Using the Landscape to Strengthen Wellbeing and Belonging, introduced participants to the Landscape of Wellbeing and Belonging, a framework and set of tools designed to help schools assess their current climate and turn those insights into meaningful action.
Throughout the day, educators explored case studies and worked with self-assessment tools to identify priorities in their own schools. Participants also reviewed implementation guides, online learning resources and materials from the Colorado Project AWARE Resource Collection to help plan, monitor and evaluate their efforts.
Educators leaned into the conversations, openly discussing challenges and working together to find solutions. Conversations reflected a deep commitment to students and a shared goal of creating school environments where every student feels safe, supported and connected.
When educators are given the tools and space to turn reflection into action, the impact extends far beyond the training room and into the classrooms to the students they serve every day.
