The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program

The Fresh Fruit & Vegetable program provides schools with funding to give students free fresh fruits and vegetables during the school day, helping them eat healthier and explore new produce.

Program Requirements 

To participate, schools must:

  • Be an elementary school
  • Start FFVP at the beginning of the school year
  • Participate in the National School Lunch or School Breakfast Program
  • Have ≥50% of students eligible for free or reduced-price lunch 

Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) schools may qualify using the school’s Identified student percentage (ISP x 1.6) and must have an ISP of at least 31.25%.

How to Apply

Elementary schools are selected annually through the online application. Priority is given to schools with the highest free and reduced-price enrollment. Applications must be submitted by June 30.

How to Claim

Reimbursement claims are due 60 days after the end of each month.
