Graduation Guidelines - ACT
The following excerpts come from ACT and the Colorado Department of Education.
The ACT is a national college admissions exam that students usually take in 10th, 11th, or 12th grade. The ACT consists of four multiple-choice tests – English, Mathematics, Reading, and Scientific Reasoning – each with a highest possible score of 36. There is also an optional writing test which is scored separately.
In order to place in college-level courses in Colorado, students must earn an 18 in English and a 19 in math. Learn about remediation rates from the Colorado Department of Higher Education (CDHE).
Why This Option
The ACT is accepted at colleges and universities in the U.S., and also by the military. The test is used for college admissions decisions and for awarding merit-based scholarships.
