Why School Readiness

Every child, in every community deserves access to high quality, evidence-based early learning experiences. A strong start is crucial to ensuring a student’s ultimate success in school, postsecondary education, in the workforce and in life (C.R.S. 22-7-1002). Effective, engaging programming within an aligned system that is ready to meet the needs of every child will ensure children are prepared to benefit from learning experiences year after year. Assessing student learning and development at kindergarten entry provides an opportunity to identify students who need extra support to thrive in school (Jensen, et.al., 2021).
