Understand Disability and Health Management

Less than 14, Age 14, Ages 15-16, Ages 17-18, Ages 19-21, Ages 22-24

Goal:

To have each student have the skills to manage their own healthcare and decision making.

Before, during and after high school students should be presented with opportunities to learn how to navigate the healthcare system and develop self-determination skills to manage their care and supports needed.

Training conducted to build skills in youth in order that they can take control and make decision that affect their life. Self-determination is the right and ability of all persons to direct their own lives, as well as the responsibility to accept the consequences of their own choices.
