Colorado Asthma-Friendly Schools Recognition Initiative

The 2025-2026 Asthma Friendly Schools Survey has closed.  Watch for recipients list, coming soon!

  2. Submit this survey form by March 1st for each school seeking recognition:  Colorado Asthma-Friendly Schools Initiative 25-26

Timeline for recognition as a 2025-2026 Colorado Asthma-Friendly School:

  • Before March 1, 2026 - Complete self-assessment checklist and submit on green Survey above.

    • Participants will be notified regarding the recognition and tier level within 8 weeks of submission, from University of Colorado.
       

  • May 2026 - University of Colorado will distribute Final Recognition Certificate and Recognition Communications Kit.

AsthmaCOMP Colorado School Nurse Professional Learning Commmunity

About AsthmaCOMP

AsthmaCOMP (Comprehensive School-Centered Asthma Program) is a statewide community of school nurses applying standardized best practice asthma care in schools. AsthmaCOMP is funded by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment Cancer, Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Disease Program.

Registraton is closed for the 2025-2026 Cohort for the AsthmaCOMP Professional Learning Community.  We will also be including asthma topics in our professional development for all school nurses throught the year and registration for those will be sent through the school nurse listserv.

School Nurse Asthma Trainings

School Staff / Unlicensed Assistive Personnel Asthma Trainings

  • The Medication Administration Training for Schools & Childcare (MAT course) includes an asthma module for UAPs that can be taken with the full course or as a stand-alone module.  UAPs are encouraged to work with your school nurse to receive the training they recommend.
