Complaint and Hearing Process Response
Within 10 days of receiving a DPC, the public agency (School District, BOCES, State Operated Program, or CDE) must send a response to the parent that includes:
- An explanation of why the public agency proposed or refused the actions described in the complaint;
- A description of other options that the IEP team considered and why those options were rejected;
- A description of each evaluation, assessment, record or report used to make its decision; and
- A description of any other factors determined to be relevant.
