Becoming Colorado Film Series Resources

As the school year begins, the America 250 - Colorado 150 Commission is launching Becoming Colorado, a five-part documentary series designed for students that connects them to the state’s past through stories rooted in communities across Colorado. An official signature initiative of the statewide commemoration, the series explores the people, places, and events that have shaped Colorado’s history and identity.

The series was developed in partnership with the Colorado Office of Film, Television and Media, in collaboration with the Colorado Department of Education and History Colorado, with a focus on creating a lasting resource for Colorado classrooms.

Twelve Colorado educators developed accompanying instructional materials for grades 4, 8, and high school that can be used alongside the films or as stand-alone lessons.
